FSDB Blind High School students carried out Homecoming celebrations during the week of November 4-8, 2019, with Enchanted Garden as this year's theme.
Students took part in various Spirit Week activities, including the opportunity to wear themed garb for each day. The Blind Cadence Drumline gave a rousing performance before the parade, which included the all-new Illusion Colorguard.
During the week, each High School class decorated a golf cart, which they displayed as "floats" on the track as part of Thursday's Homecoming parade at the Usina Athletic Field. The Sophomore class took first place with their design "Garden of Eden." The Seniors "Alice in Wonderland" theme earned 2nd place, while the Junior Class "Fantasia Forest" and Freshman Class "Good vs. Evil" came in third and fourth, respectively.
The presentation of the Homecoming 2019 court took place at the end of the parade with the introduction of Luke Boccuzzo and Z'Leah Liburd as the king and queen, and Tristan Brennan and Natalie Cruz as prince and princess. FSDB President Dr. Prickett had the honor of crowning the princess and queen, and Blind High School Assistant Principal Justin Cosgrove did the same for the prince and king.
The festivities wrapped up with a formal evening Homecoming dance, which was enjoyed by all involved.
