The FSDB Football team is off to a quick start, winning their first three games of the season. The beginning of the 2019 football campaign was delayed due to Hurrican Dorian, causing postponement of the first two games on the schedule. This year's football program switched to an eight-man football team instead of the traditional 11-man format.

Learn more about eight-man football and the differences from FSDB Head Coach Eric LeFors in the video below.

The FSDB Dragons were eager to take the field in front of a home crowd against International Community School (Winter Park) in their first-ever eight-man football game on September 12. They were victorious, with a 38-14 win.

The Dragons continued their winning ways in their second game against the Mississippi School for the Deaf (MSD) on September 21. After a long 12-hour bus ride, the team managed to beat the reigning eight-man National Champions, 30-0.

Back at home for their third game on September 26, the Dragons took on Harvest Comunity School (Jacksonville). The game came down to the final three seconds. With FSDB up 24-22, Harvest had an opportunity to win the game on a 39-yard field goal. The kick fell short, and the Dragons celebrated wildly on the field for their third straight win.

The Dragons have four more games on their schedule, including three at home.

  • Thursday, October 3, 7:00 pm, home against City of Life Christian Academy

  • Saturday, October 12, 12:00 pm, away against Tennessee School for the Deaf

  • Saturday, October 19, 6:00 pm, home against Louisiana School for the Deaf

  • Saturday, October 26, 2:00 pm, home against Alabama School for the Deaf (FSDB Homecoming/Alumni Reunion)
