Hello everyone!

October has been full of energy, excitement, and community spirit! I’m so proud of all the students for their enthusiasm and participation. Here’s what’s been happening—and what’s coming up!

Sports Updates

Basketball and Weightlifting tryouts were a huge success! Students showed great effort and team spirit. We’re thrilled to see so many eager to start a new sport this season.

Cross Country is hosting a Halloween 5K on October 29th at 5:00 PM. Don’t forget to wear orange to show your spooky spirit and support!

Halloween Fun

On October 29th, we’ll be watching a scary Halloween movie together! It’s a great way to relax and enjoy the season. We’re all excited to see what’s in store—bring your popcorn and your courage!

Community Service Spotlight

We celebrated Custodian Appreciation Day by making pastries and cards to show our gratitude. Thank you to everyone who helped make this day special!

We’ve also been working on:

  • Following directions more carefully

  • Raising anti-bullying awareness

  • Signing out properly so staff always know your location

  • Improving communication across our community

Encouragement Corner

This month has shown us how powerful teamwork, kindness, and effort can be. Whether you’re trying out for a sport, helping others, or learning something new—keep going! You’re doing amazing.

The past two weeks? BUSY.

But the good kind of busy! From tutoring to sports to clubs, the boys have been diving into life skills that will stick with them for years to come.

Life Skills Spotlight

We’ve been working on emotional intelligence—aka, the superpower of understanding feelings. Some big questions we’ve explored:

  • “Why did they make that choice, even if I think it’s wrong?”

  • “What might they be feeling that led to that reaction?”

Curriculum Highlights

Here’s what’s been happening in the dorm:

  • Compassion & Community Service – Being a role model, especially with younger kids

  • Study & Hygiene Tips – Building strong daily habits

  • Body Positivity – Learning to eat and move in ways that feel good

  • Perspective-Taking – Respecting differences and being fair

  • Emotional Management – What to do with big feelings

Character Focus: Honesty

We’ve kept the conversation going, exploring what honesty really means. The boys even wrote reflections on what honesty means to them, and their insights were thoughtful and sincere.

Community Service Corner

Some boys returned to the elementary dorm to read stories, perform ASL storytelling, and show what it means to be a positive role model. It’s been inspiring to watch them step up and shine in front of their little fans.

Next up?

They’re brainstorming new mentorship ideas for middle schoolers and planning campus service projects around the theme of gratitude.

Halloween & Football Fun

We wrapped up October with a movie night—popcorn, drinks, candy, and a not-so-scary film.

Last night, possibly the last football game of the season, we cheered on our seniors as they took the field one last time!
