Rhyne Hall News
Welcome Back to Rhyne Hall!
We are excited to welcome our students and families back for another wonderful school year! It has been a pleasure seeing our returning students reconnect with friends and meeting our new freshmen as they begin their high school dorm experience.
Building Independence and Success
During the first few weeks of school, our focus has been on helping students learn dorm routines, understand expectations, and strengthen their independent living skills. These foundational skills are an important part of helping students become confident, responsible, and successful both in the dorm and beyond.
As part of this process, dorm staff have reached out to families to request two goals you would like your son to work toward this semester. If you have not yet shared your goals, we encourage you to contact the dorm staff. Your input is valuable and helps us create meaningful learning opportunities for your child.
In addition to the family-selected goals, staff will develop four additional goals, giving each student a total of six individualized goals for the semester. Our commitment is to help students practice and master these skills, and we will continue supporting them until they achieve success.
Fun and Activities in Rhyne Hall
The boys have already been enjoying a variety of activities as they settle into the school year. Some of their favorite activities have included:
Playing basketball
Fishing
Participating in sports tryouts
Playing card games during rainy afternoons
These activities provide opportunities for students to build friendships, develop teamwork skills, and enjoy their time in the dorm community.
Transportation Reminder
To help ensure smooth weekend travel arrangements, please notify us of any transportation changes for your son, including:
A different pickup person
A different destination
Changes to weekend plans
Please email Kim Moore at moorek@fsdbk12.org by Thursday morning so arrangements can be made in advance.
Looking Ahead
We are looking forward to an exciting and successful school year filled with learning, growth, and memorable experiences. Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we work together to help your son thrive.
