When spirit week twin day turns into lots and lots of multiples! We love DMS!
Students in Ms. Kelsey's class worked on figurative language. They designed restaurant menus using similes, hyperboles, metaphors and more! Once menus were set they visited each other's restaurants, choosing their dishes, and leaving a Google Review containing even more figure language. This experience was out of this world!

We wanted to send a friendly reminder that this weekend is a Long Weekend.
Here are the important details to keep in mind:
All students will be dismissed tomorrow, Friday, October 9, at 2:05 p.m.
There will be no classes on Monday, October 12.
SHOW Bus students will be picked up on Monday, October 12, at their regular pick-up time.
Classes will resume on Tuesday, October 13.

Today is National Custodian Day and we can't let the day go by without recognizing our very own Ms. Faye! She keeps the building looking beautiful and gives us a great place to work and learn.
Deaf Middle School is super excited to announce our Teacher of the Year, Alicia Lugo! Alicia design engaging lessons, builds great relationships with students, and helps her department in every way possible! She is so deserving of this honor.
Fun fact: The sign Alicia is holding and the crown she is wearing are a 25 year old DMs tradition. Each year an item is added to the crown to represent the new TOY and a message is added to the back of the sign!

Students in the Explorer Squad planned to go fishing today but the weather had other plans. They were not disappointed! They got to interact with these guys! Check out the size and cool colors!

Students in Brandon Call's class are exploring why scientists found fossils from the same animal on two different continents! This lab gave hands on experience with plate tectonics!
