REDS (Recreation for Elementary Day Students – Deaf Department)
We are excited to introduce a new Recreation Program designed for our elementary day students in the Deaf Department, Kindergarten – 5th grade! This program offers a safe, fun, and engaging environment where children can enjoy a variety of recreational activities after school. This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to unwind, socialize, and enjoy structured play in a supportive setting. Space may be limited, so early registration is encouraged.
Program Details
Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays (Beginning on September 2, 2025)
Time: 3:30 – 5:45 p.m.
Location: Cary White Building
Eligibility: Open to elementary day students in K-5th grade only.
Registration Deadline: Friday, August 22, 2025
Advance Registration is Required: All students must be signed up in advance to participate.
FSDB Transportation is not provided for this program. Your child MUST be picked up no later than 5:45 p.m. in front of the Cary White Building (across from the bus garage).

Day Student Participation
Recreation calendars are posted monthly for each age group, elementary school, middle school, and high school/continuing education. Please see the instructions for signing up for activities for each age group as they differ. This process is for day students. Here are the guidelines for each age group:
Elementary School
Activities are after school from 3:45 – 4:30 p.m.
Blind Department – Monday, Wednesday and Thursday
Students must be picked up immediately following the activity. Day student parents need to print and circle the activities for each week by the date indicated on the calendar, include the student’s name and submit the full month of activities to the appropriate administrative assistant in the school by the deadline on each calendar.
Middle School
Activities are after dinner, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
Blind Department – Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday
Deaf Department – Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday
Day student parents need to print and circle the activities for each week by the date indicated on the calendar, include the student’s name and submit the full month of activities to the appropriate administrative assistant in the schools by the deadline on each calendar.
High School/Continuing Education
Activities are 7:30 – 8:45 p.m.
Blind Department – Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
Deaf Department – Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
Day Students and parents need to print and circle the activities for the month, include the student’s name and submit the full month of activities to the appropriate administrative assistant in the schools by the deadline on each calendar.
