FSDB is planning a variety of academic enrichment programs during the summer of 2023 for students who are deaf/hard of hearing, blind/visually impaired, or deafblind.
Summer Quest 2023
Ready for an adventure in the oldest city with new friends! Summer Quest is an overnight camp offering various recreational and social experiences. Kayak in Hospital Creek, swim in our indoor pool, let your imagination inspire works of art, score a winning basket, and dance your heart out on stage!
If you are between the ages of 8-17, are deaf/hard of hearing, blind/visually impaired, or deafblind, and live in Florida, you can experience a summer you'll never forget. Download the application now to start your quest. The application deadline is April 22nd.

Third grade reading camps
Specially designed learning activities will enable your child to engage and focus intensively on the following literacy skills areas of need: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Learn more about fourth grade promotion and good cause exemption. Note: Available only for eligible/currently enrolled FSDB students.

Virtual ECC Interactive Summer Learning Series
The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind ( FSDB ) is excited to continue our Virtual Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC) Interactive Summer Learning Series for children ages 3-17 who are deaf/hard of hearing (D/HH) or blind/visually impaired (B/VI).
The virtual ECC series is available at no cost and all registered children will receive materials delivered to their homes for participation via live conferencing and engaging online classroom activities.
* This learning series is not currently offered to FSDB students.

Early learning Center 3-2-1 LEarn! summer camp
The FSDB Early Learning Center will host a two-week day camp via distance learning during June 2020, which will provide an “out of this world” experience. Children will have opportunities to learn through discovery - researching, creating, exploring, observing, building, and experiencing space and related activities. Note: Available only to currently enrolled FSDB ELC Pre-K and Toddler students.

K-2 Academic Summer Camps
The FSDB Blind and Deaf Departments will host virtual K-2 Academic Summer Camps June 2021. These three-week camps will provide fun, meaningful learning experiences in the areas of language arts, reading, math, and concept development. Thematic instruction is used along with extracurricular activities that reinforce academic and expanded core curriculum concepts. Note: Free of charge, available only for currently enrolled FSDB students.

deaf Summer STEM Camp
FSDB will be offering two Virtual Summer STEM Camps free of charge for currently enrolled FSDB students who are deaf/hard of hearing entering 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th grade in the 2021-22 school year.
Students will receive all materials needed to complete projects the week before camp and will interact with instructors online via the Microsoft TEAMS app.

Registration is FREE and closes May 14.

STEM Camp for Rising 6th and 7th Graders

Blind Summer STEM Camp
FSDB will be offering a Virtual Summer STEM Camp free of charge for currently enrolled FSDB students who are blind/visually impaired entering 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade in the 2021-22 school year.
Students will receive all materials needed to complete projects the week before camp and will interact with instructors online via the Microsoft TEAMS app.

About the Camp
Ready for a fun week of STEM? Complete fun STEM challenges including building pencil towers, designing a kite, building your very own roller coaster, and a space rover to transport rocks. Put on your detective hats and solve three different mysteries!

Title I STEAM Day Camp
This five-day camp will provide students with learning activities they can do in their homes focusing around science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. Each student will be sent two activities to do each day around a specific theme along with directions. Teachers will engage with students via phone and video conferencing platforms – using the same technology students used during distance learning in the fourth quarter of school. Note: Free of charge, available only for currently enrolled FSDB students entering 4th, 5th, and 6th grade in the 2020-21 school year.

Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC)
Summer academies
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, FSDB has canceled the Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC) Summer Academies scheduled for June 2020. We look forward to offering this experience in the summer of 2021.

Blind/Visually Impaired
The FSDB Blind Department will host a two-week Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC) Summer Academy focusing on several areas including assistive technology, orientation and mobility, and daily living skills development. Participants will enjoy a variety of recreation and leisure activities including social experiences. Academy presenters and instructors are certified teachers as well as orientation and mobility specialists trained to work with students who are blind or visually impaired. Note: Not available to currently enrolled FSDB students.

deaftec summer camp
FSDB will host a five day DeafTEC Summer Camp within the Career and Technical Education facilities on campus. Students will have opportunities to explore Science, Technology, Engineering and Math careers and will participate in hands-on activities. Topics may include photography, digital design, and video production, CAD and 3D Printing, Building Construction Technologies, Robotics, Coding and Programming (program not finalized). Participants will enjoy a variety of recreation and leisure activities including social experiences. Class presenters and instructors are certified teachers trained to work with students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Note: Available to both non-enrolled students and currently enrolled FSDB students at no cost, with transportation, boarding and meals included.
