The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) will host the 2026 South Regional Academic Bowl from February 13–16, a prestigious competition showcasing the academic excellence and talents of deaf and hard of hearing student teams from across the region.

The Gallaudet University Academic Bowl was established to foster academic excellence, healthy competition, and sportsmanship among deaf and hard of hearing youth—all while building lifelong friendships. Each year, up to 16 teams in each region participate in this prestigious quiz tournament, demonstrating their knowledge and quick recall across a wide array of subjects.

Participants will showcase their skills in categories including Arts and Entertainment, Current Events, Language and Literature, Mathematics, Social Studies, Pop Culture, Leisure and Sports, Potpourri, and Science and Technology. The event promises to be a dynamic celebration of learning and achievement, challenging students to excel and inspiring the entire community.

The top-performing teams from the South Regional Academic Bowl will earn the honor of advancing to the national competition at Gallaudet University in Washington, DC.
