The FSDB Blind Elementary Theatre will present its production of Madagascar KIDS, the 30-minute version of the hilariously vibrant DreamWorks film, on Thursday, April 30, at 2:00 p.m. Thanks to our generous donors, you won’t have to trade your snacks for a ticket; it’s absolutely FREE! The show is invitation-only for students, families, and staff—but don’t worry, you won’t have to disguise yourself as a penguin to get in! We’re livestreaming all the wild action, so you can watch from the comfort of your own couch (and yes, pajamas and animal onesies are highly encouraged).

About “Madagascar KIDS”
Based on the 2005 DreamWorks Animation Motion Picture with a book by Kevin Del Aguila and original music and lyrics by George Noriega and Joel Someillan, Madagascar: A Musical Adventure KIDS has been adapted from the film under the supervision of Timothy Allen McDonald of iTheatrics for performance by students.
Alex the lion is the king of the urban jungle, the main attraction at New York's Central Park Zoo. He and his best friends Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe, and Gloria the hippo have spent their whole lives in blissful captivity before an admiring public and with regular meals provided for them. Not content to leave well enough alone, Marty lets his curiosity get the better of him and makes his escape with the help of some prodigious penguins. Filled with outlandish characters, adventure galore, and an upbeat score, Madagascar KIDS will leave audiences with no choice but to “Move It, Move It!”
DreamWorks Madagascar KIDS follows four friends who are thrust into an exciting, high-stakes adventure at the very moment in which they start to imagine the possibilities beyond the safe environment in which they live,” says Drew Cohen, President and CEO of Music Theatre International. “The blind elementary students are on a similar journey. They are experimenting with new skill sets as they venture into new territory personally and creatively, and they are forming new friendships through the shared experience of collaborating on this show.”
Madagascar KIDS is presented through special arrangement with, and all authorized materials are supplied by, Music Theatre International, 423 West 55th Street, New York, NY 10019, 212-541-4684, mtishows.com.
